Chandigarh : Under the special campaign Operation Track Down of Haryana Police, the STF Unit Palwal achieved a major success by arresting Rahul alias Dhaulu, a notorious criminal carrying a reward of ₹5000 and a resident of Nuh district, from Manali in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. The accused was allegedly involved in several serious crimes in Haryana and the Delhi-NCR region. He was wanted in FIR No. 151 dated 17 August 2025 registered at Police Station Sadar Nuh / Police Station Rozka Meo, for which a reward of ₹5000 had been announced. Based on specific intelligence and technical surveillance, STF nabbed him in Manali.

Criminal background of the accused
Rahul alias Dhaulu has an extremely alarming criminal record and has been wanted in seven cases, including robbery, sexual offence, kidnapping, attempt to murder and criminal intimidation. In 2014, a case of sexual offence and kidnapping was registered at Police Station Sadar Nuh. In 2020, a case of robbery under Section 395 IPC was registered at Sadar Sohna, Gurugram, and in 2021, a case under Section 160 IPC was registered at Police Station DLF Phase-1, Gurugram. In 2022, a case of robbery and possession of stolen property was registered at New Delhi Railway Station, while another case of attempt to murder and criminal intimidation was registered the same year at Sadar Nuh. The accused had also been declared a Proclaimed Offender by a court in a case registered in Sadar Sohna, Gurugram. After arrest, he has been handed over to the PO Staff of Gurugram Police for further legal action.

Operation Track Down: A decisive blow to organised crime
Conducted from 5 to 16 November 2025, this campaign proved highly effective against active organised crime syndicates and criminal gangs in the state. During this 12-day action, Haryana Police arrested 670 criminals in 518 cases related to heinous offences such as Arms Act, murder, attempt to murder, extortion, robbery, dacoity, snatching and kidnapping. In addition, 2724 more arrests were made in other criminal cases. The police opened 179 history sheets / personal files of offenders and seized a large quantity of illegal weapons, including 250 cartridges, 21 country-made pistols, 55 pistols, 7 magazines, 2 revolvers and 4 guns.

Action on 16 November: 48 cases and 60 arrests in a single day
On 16 November, Haryana Police conducted intensive state-wide operations against organised and serious crime, registering 48 heinous crime cases and arresting 60 accused involved in them. Gurugram, Palwal, Bhiwani and Jhajjar played a prominent role in this action. Gurugram registered 13 cases with 14 arrests, Palwal registered 8 cases with 9 arrests, Bhiwani registered 4 cases with 8 arrests, and Jhajjar registered 7 cases with 8 arrests. In Faridabad, 3 murder cases were registered leading to 5 arrests. Additionally, 29 new history sheets were opened, with Kurukshetra district leading.

Haryana Police’s stern warning
Haryana Police has once again made it clear that no individual involved in organised crime, gangster activities or heinous offences will be spared. The Police further stated that no place is safe for criminals attempting to escape the law, and that any offender challenging the security and law and order of the state will be arrested from any part of the country.
