New Delhi :  Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday held a press conference and made serious allegations against the Election Commission. He said that the Commission is rigging the elections in connivance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and weakening democracy.

Rahul Gandhi said that the foundation of our Constitution rests on the principle of ‘one person, one vote’. Therefore, when elections are held, the most important question is whether the right people are allowed to vote? Are fake names being added to the voter list? Is the voter list accurate?

He said that for some time now, doubts have been increasing among the people. He listed five main points and said that the BJP never has to face anti-incumbency. The BJP gets unexpected and big victories. Opinion polls and exit polls are repeatedly proven wrong. The atmosphere created by the media and the deliberate ‘choreographing’ of the election program are also included in these five points.

He said that” BJP won 25 Lok Sabha seats with a margin of less than 33,000 votes.

Narendra Modi needed to steal 25 seats to become Prime Minister — and that’s exactly what happened.

This is why the Election Commission is refusing to give us the digital voter list. “

Rahul Gandhi said that in the Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections, he started seeing the real picture behind these doubts. He said that the number of new voters added in Maharashtra in just 5 months was more than the number added in the last 5 years. In many areas, the number of voters added was more than the entire population of those areas. There was a sudden surge in voting after 5 o’clock, but there were no queues at the polling stations.

The Leader of Opposition also alleged that the Election Commission refused to give machine-readable voter lists. If we had a soft copy, we could have analyzed the entire data in 30 seconds. But we got seven-foot long bundles of paper, which took six months to read and match. A team of 30-40 people worked day and night for just one assembly seat.

He raised questions that the EC deliberately gives such data, which cannot be read by scanning. The EC changed the rules for accessing CCTV footage. Along with this, the Election Commission refuses to give digital data. All this is being done so that no one can investigate.

Rahul Gandhi said that ” the Election Commission must provide us with that information and share it with the people of India. If they fail to do so, there will be consequences. There will be consequences for every single polling officer involved in this, regardless of their seniority. When the Opposition comes to power, you will face the repercussions of your actions, because you are attacking the foundation of what our freedom fighters built. We will not allow you to do so, no matter who you are. “

The Leader of Opposition said that 1,00,250 votes were rigged in Mahadevpura assembly seat of Karnataka. He mentioned five types of irregularities, which include duplicate voters, fake and invalid addresses, too many voters at one address, invalid photo and misuse of Form 6.

Rahul Gandhi said that the public has full right to transparency and no record related to the election should be destroyed. The Congress team has understood the entire system and will bring the truth before the public.
