Awareness seminar Organized in Gurugram on ESIC’s SPREE-2025 scheme

Unregistered employers exempted from inspection and penalty, workers will get social security benefits

Gurugram :  An awareness seminar was organized by the Sub Regional Office, Gurugram with the aim of disseminating the information of the SPREE scheme run by the Ministry of Labor and Employment and the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) to the industry. The program was presided over by Sunil Yadav, in-charge of the Sub Regional Office. He inaugurated the seminar by lighting the Panchdeep and welcomed all the participants present by presenting flowers.

Addressing the seminar, Sunil Yadav said that this scheme started by ESIC will be in force from 1 July 2024 to 31 December 2025. Its objective is to bring as many unregistered employers and employees as possible under the social security system. He clarified that there will be no inspection under this scheme and neither will any kind of penalty be imposed. Employers can register their units and employees through ESIC portal or Shram Suvidha portal, and this registration will be considered valid from the date which will be declared by the employer.

Sunil Yadav also informed that this scheme has been approved in the 196th meeting of ESIC held in Shimla under the chairmanship of Union Minister of Labor and Employment Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya. This scheme provides medical services and cash benefits to the employees as well as a transparent and simple registration process to the employers, so that they can join the social security system without any hassle.

A question-answer session was also organized at the end of the seminar, in which the representatives present shared the problems related to the scheme and also gave useful suggestions.

Gupta, Sandeep Sangwan and Harish Sharma on behalf of the Employers Association, Sumit Rao on behalf of Gurgaon Industries Association and Asha and Chandra Sharma on behalf of Safe In Foundation, Deputy Director Sachin Singh, Public Relations Officer Dr. Sweety Yadav, Assistant Director Kamalendra Kumar, Pramod Kumar and other officers of the office were present.
