Farmers should take Advantage of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana at CSC Centers : CSC District Manager

– Last date for insurance of Kharif crops extended till August 14

Gurugram : District Manager of Common Service Center (CSC) Vikas Punia, while giving information, said that keeping in mind the interest of the farmers, the last date for insurance of Kharif 2025 crops under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana has been extended till August 14. Earlier this date was fixed as 31st July, but now farmers have been given an opportunity to get insurance by giving additional time.

Vikas Punia said that under this scheme, paddy, millet, maize and cotton crops have been kept in the category of insured crops. This scheme is voluntary and is available to farmers of all categories. He appealed to the farmers to go to their nearest CSC center before August 14 and get crop insurance, so that they can get financial security in case of natural disasters or other risks. For the insurance process, farmers will have to bring Aadhar card, bank passbook, latest land records, certified sowing letter and a copy of the details recorded on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal. With these documents, farmers can easily apply.

Vikas Punia said that under Kharif 2025, the insurance premium for cotton crop has been fixed at ₹ 5435.05 per hectare, ₹ 2124.98 per hectare for paddy, ₹ 1024.36 per hectare for millet and ₹ 1089.74 per hectare for maize. Under the scheme, provision has been made to compensate for the losses caused from sowing to harvesting of the crop such as excessive rain, drought, hailstorm, pest-disease etc.
