“Rules of the Road, Means of Life” – DLSA Gurugram organizes road safety campaign

Initiative to increase public awareness towards road safety through eye checkup camp and awareness workshop for autorickshaw drivers

Gurugram : District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Gurugram is celebrating the month of July as “Rules of the Road, Means of Life” under the guidelines of Haryana State Legal Services Authority. This state-wide road safety campaign is being conducted with the aim of increasing awareness about road safety among citizens, encouraging responsible behavior and ensuring timely assistance to road accident victims.

Under the campaign, DLSA Gurugram organized an eye checkup camp for drivers and litigants at Shadi Lal Hall, District and Sessions Court Complex. The main objective of this initiative was to check the health of drivers working in public transport and underline the importance of regular eye tests.

Apart from this, a special awareness workshop was organized for autorickshaw drivers at Aggarwal Dharamshala. In this, the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Gurugram gave information to the drivers about safe driving, traffic, etc. They were sensitized to follow the rules and help the injured persons in road accidents under the Good Samaritan Law. They were also told about the importance of “Golden Hour”. Also, information was given about the National Lok Adalat to be held on 12 July 2025, in which traffic challan cases will be resolved. About 300 auto drivers participated in the workshop.

DLSA panel advocates Mr. Nakul and Mr. Sunny were also present in the program who interacted with the auto drivers and provided them information related to the law.

This campaign reflects DLSA’s commitment to reduce road accidents through legal literacy, citizen participation and behavioral change.

Under the campaign, DLSA along with its panel advocates, para legal volunteers and partner organizations will organize various awareness programs, legal literacy camps and capacity development workshops throughout the month.
