Chandigarh : Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij today sharply criticized Congress for linking Robert Vadra’s court appearance with politics, saying that Congress doesn’t trust the country’s constitutional institutions. He (Vij) believes Congress is systematically trying to undermine these institutions, which are the backbone of any democratic country, while Congress has always harbored dictatorial tendencies.
Speaking with media persons, Sh. Vij said that Congress imposed the Emergency in the country, and Article 356 (President’s Rule) has been applied 192 times—meaning duly elected governments were dissolved—most of which were done by Congress. He added that the BJP has been in power for the past 11 years and has never used Article 356, because BJP is a democratic party, unlike Congress, which is dictatorial.
“Congress’ Organization is All Air – They Don’t Even Know Who’s Alive or Dead in Their Party” -Vij
Reacting to the appointment of a deceased woman leader as state secretary by the Haryana Congress, Cabinet Minister Anil Vij remarked that a party that hasn’t held internal elections in 11 years is now hastily forming its organization. “Their organization is all in the air,” he said. “They even appointed a dead person to a post—they don’t even know who’s alive and who’s dead in their party.”
“Since Losing Power in Haryana, Hooda Opposes Everything”-Vij
Responding sarcastically to former CM Bhupinder Hooda’s statement that farmers are troubled in the mandis (agricultural markets) while the government sits with its eyes shut, Cabinet Minister Vij said that “It seems that ever since Congress has been out of power, Sh. Hooda has been opposing everything. Everything is functioning properly, but he just has to oppose—it has become a habit.”
“There’s a World of Difference Between Saying and Doing Things”- Vij
Commenting on Congress MLA Gokul Setia’s statement that if he were made Chief Minister for one day, he would change Haryana’s destiny, Vij remarked that “Any MLA or even a non-MLA can make such statements, but there is a world of difference between saying something and actually doing it.”
