Nomination process for Panchayat By-election Completed, 34 Nominations Received for Sarpanch and Panch : DC

– By-elections will be conducted in 17 Panchayats of the district from 8 am to 6 pm on June 15

Gurugram : As per the instructions of the Haryana State Election Commission, the nomination process going on from 24 to 30 May for the by-election in 17 Panchayats of the district has been completed. For the by-election, five applications have been received for the post of Sarpanch and two for the post of Panch in Patodi block, 9 for the post of Panch in Farrukhnagar block and 18 for the post of Sarpanch in Sohna block.

District Election Officer and DC Ajay Kumar, while giving the above information, said that after the nomination process, the candidates who want to withdraw their nomination can inform their respective Returning Officer under the prescribed procedure till 3 pm on June 2. He said that the remaining candidates included in the final list will be allotted election symbols after 3 pm on the same day.

The District Election Officer said that these by-elections will be held in the district on June 15. The State Election Commission has fixed the time for voting from 8 am to 6 pm. The DC said that after the voting process and counting of votes are completed, the election results will be declared at the polling station itself. He said that if repoll is conducted under any circumstances, the Commission has fixed June 17 as the date for voting and declaration of results. The DC said that all necessary preparations are being made by the administration to maintain transparency and fairness of the election process in the district.
