– Second Haryana Film Festival-2025 held at Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak
– Students of Media Studies Department of Gurugram University won awards in five categories
Gurugram, April 08 : The Department of Media Studies of Gurugram University achieved remarkable success and won many awards in the Second Haryana Film Festival-2025 held at Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak on April 4-5. Many dignitaries including Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, Minister of State for Sports Shri Gaurav Gautam and famous film actor Rajkumar Rao were present in this film festival organized by Cine Foundation, Haryana and Vishwa Samvad Kendra, Haryana.
Awards received in these categories
Out of the 18 films made under the guidance of Head of Department of Media Studies Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Yogi, 11 were selected for screening in the film festival, out of which 5 received awards in various categories. The Digital Paradox film made by the students of Animation and Multimedia of the department using stop motion technology received the Best Film Award in the non-professional category, while BSc Animation and Multimedia student Puneet received the Best Director award for the short film Tamas, and MAJMC Integrated student Reha Phagana received the Best Acting award for the short film Udaan. The short film Ladko and the documentary Gauravshali Haryana were given the Incentive Award in the non-professional category.
The Vice Chancellor and Registrar congratulated the students on their achievement
The Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. S.K. Tomar and Registrar Dr. Rajiv Kumar Singh congratulated the students on this achievement and said, we are proud of the talent and hard work of our students. We hope that our students will achieve similar success in future as well. It is worth mentioning that along with studies, the students studying in Gurugram University are also given practical experience in different fields so that the students can get sufficient knowledge related to their field.
