– Mining department seized 50 vehicles in the current financial year and filed 14 FIRs, imposed fine of more than 66 lakhs
– RTA challaned 163 overloaded vehicles in March and imposed fine of 1 crore 21 lakh 12 thousand
Gurugram, March 25 : ADC Hitesh Kumar Meena held a meeting of the district level task force committee of the mining department to prevent illegal mining in the district and gave necessary guidelines. In the meeting held in the conference hall located in the Mini Secretariat, the ADC directed the concerned officials to take strict and effective action as per the intention of the state government to prevent illegal lifting of soil in all the blocks of the district.
The ADC said that the Haryana government is taking strict steps against illegal mining and the mining department is constantly monitoring it. As per the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, the Director General of the department K.M. Pandurang himself is monitoring the activities of the mining department and issuing necessary guidelines. He said that the main goal of the government is to make the mining process completely transparent and to root out illegal mining. The Haryana government is covering the exploration, development and management of mineral resources in the state through the mining department.
The ADC said that the mining, police, forest and RTA departments should take strict action against the mining mafia by running a joint campaign. Identify the areas of illegal mining in the district and make an action plan and take effective action to prevent it. He directed that the officials of the mining department should ensure that mining is not done in any area or place other than the lease prescribed in the district. During this, he also took information regarding the action taken against illegal mining from the police, administration and departmental officials. He directed the officials of the mining department to send regular reports regarding illegal mining. The ADC directed the SDM of Sohna and the officials of the district mining department to make a joint visit and ensure continuous monitoring of illegal activities related to mining in the Aravalli area and ban them. The ADC said that in the upcoming meeting, a detailed report should also be presented on what action has been taken so far on the FIR lodged in connection with illegal mining in the last three months.
Assistant Mining Engineer Surendra Solanki said that the mining department has seized 50 vehicles in the current financial year in Gurugram district. He informed that 14 FIRs have been registered during this period and a total fine of Rs 66 lakh 13 thousand 438 has been imposed. Giving information about the vehicle checking done date wise in the month of March, he said that so far in this month, 123 vehicles have been checked and necessary action has been taken. In the meeting, Motor Vehicle Officer Harendra Veer from the RTA department informed that the department has challaned 163 overloaded vehicles in March and imposed a fine of 1 crore 21 lakh 12 thousand.
Sohna SDM Sanjeev Kumar, Gurugram SDM Paramjeet Chahal, Pataudi SDM Dinesh Luhach, District Mining Officer Anil Kumar along with RTA and Police Department officials were present in the meeting.
