-Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini made many important announcements for urban local bodies
Panchkula : Oath ceremony of all the newly elected Mayors, Chairmans and Members of 33 urban local bodies of Haryana was organised in Indradhanush auditorium at Panchkula on today . the Divisional Commissioner of respected divisions administered oath to all elected local body representatives including members of Corporations and Councils. The Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, urban local body minister Vipul Goyal, Haryana BJP state president Mohanlal Badoli and ministers of other departments as well as many MLAs where also present in this ceremony.
On this occasion CM Nayab Singh Saini released Rs.587 crores for urban local bodies as per the recommendations of 6th finance commission and launched mobile apps and portals for efficient working. It includes Urban connect mobile app, Municipal Council E Samadhan app, GIS based Property Management System, and Grievance redressal portals.
Addressing all local body representatives of Haryana ,Chief Minister urged to work with Triple speed as triple engine government. He said that honesty and transparency must be our basic tools to cater all the problems of residents of urban areas in Haryana. Making stress he said that cities are the mirror of the development of a state, hence, urban local bodies have to act with the vision of developed India.
He announced that Haryana government has decided to empower all local bodies to frame tax itself by means to be self sufficient . He said that it is required to speed up developmental works in the area but warned to have a practical approach imposing any tax, so that the people would not feel difficulties.
Discussing about recent Haryana budget Shri Saini stated that a big chunk of budget of Rs. 2 lakh 5000 crores will be spent for urban development so that Haryana state can contribute a lot towards India’s development. He said that all representatives must work beyond party politics. He also said that all plannings and decisions of local bodies should be in favour of the people of the state. Any discrimination must not be placed during process of decisions and implementations of government policies.

-To increase local bodies income Haryana government has empowered, but it must be practical.
-The state government has decided for distributions of power to empower local bodies.
-Increased budget for local bodies up to 3114 crores .
-Budget for urban local department increased up to rupees 5666 crores.
-All Municipal areas will be equipped with E library, common service centres.
– Municipal Corporation will have power to decide itself a work up to Rs 10 crores where as Nagar Palika and Nagar Parishad will have power to decide to work up to Rs 2.5 crores.
-A ward member or mayor or chairman can call any graduate youth as a secretary to attend the meeting with the facility to pay rupees for 1 meeting.
-For quarterly meeting of ward committee Municipal Corporation member will be given rupees 3000 while Nagar Parishad and Nagar palika’s member will be given rupees 1600 and rupees 2400 respectively.
-To organise a meeting or program of chief minister/ central ministers/ cabinet ministers of States a member of Municipal Corporation ward will be given Rs. 30000 while Nagar Parishad member will get Rs. 20000 and Nagar Palika’s member will be given Rs 10000.
