New Delhi : The 3rd India-Myanmar Defence Cooperation Meeting was held in Guwahati on October 7, 2026, with Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Myanmar’s Chief of Armed Forces Training, Lt Gen Pyae Sone Linn, co-chairing the meeting.
The two sides reviewed progress on various bilateral defence cooperation initiatives agreed upon during the previous Defence Cooperation Meeting held in Yangon in 2025.
India and Myanmar also discussed new initiatives to further strengthen bilateral defence ties, with a focus on training, capacity building and enhancing mutual security cooperation.
The Myanmar side appreciated India’s humanitarian assistance following the devastating earthquake in Myanmar. India, as a first responder and close neighbour, had provided relief and assistance under Operation Brahma in the aftermath of the disaster. :::
