Joint training to focus on semi-urban and mountainous operations, air mobility and counter-drone capabilities

New Delhi/Oskemen, Kazakhstan: The opening ceremony of the India-Kazakhstan Joint Military Exercise KAZIND-2026 was held in Oskemen, marking the beginning of the joint training phase between the armed forces of the two countries.

The exercise will focus on enhancing interoperability and operational coordination through training in semi-urban and mountainous terrain.

Key areas of the exercise include joint operational planning, air mobility, unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and counter-drone capabilities. The participating forces will undertake joint training designed to strengthen their ability to operate together in challenging and evolving battlefield environments.

KAZIND-2026 provides an opportunity for Indian and Kazakh forces to exchange operational experiences, refine tactical procedures and further strengthen defence cooperation between the two countries.
