New Delhi /New York : India has reiterated its commitment to the goal of achieving a world free of nuclear weapons and the complete elimination of nuclear arms.
Secretary (West) Ambassador Sibi George delivered India’s statement at the High-Level Plenary Meeting to commemorate the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
In its statement, India reaffirmed that nuclear disarmament should be pursued through a framework that is universal, non-discriminatory and verifiable.
India stressed its continued commitment to the complete elimination of nuclear weapons and to advancing international efforts towards a nuclear weapons-free world through credible and verifiable disarmament measures.
