New Delhi : In a significant milestone for India–UK defence cooperation, three Indian Air Force (IAF) Qualified Flying Instructors (QFIs) have joined RAF Valley in Wales to train and instruct Royal Air Force (RAF) pilots.
The deployment marks the first-ever posting of Indian Air Force Qualified Flying Instructors to the United Kingdom, representing a new dimension in the growing defence partnership between the two countries.
The Indian instructors will contribute their operational expertise and professional experience to the training of RAF pilots, creating opportunities for enhanced knowledge exchange, sharing of best practices and greater interoperability between the two air forces.
The move also reflects the deepening defence relationship between India and the UK, which has expanded across military training, joint exercises, maritime security, air power and professional exchanges.
The presence of Indian QFIs at RAF Valley is particularly significant as it goes beyond conventional joint exercises, bringing personnel from the two air forces together in an operational training environment.
