New Delhi : The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the UGC-NET June 2026 examination for determining eligibility for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programmes.
According to an NTA press release dated August 28, 2026, the examination was conducted across 87 subjects in multiple cities throughout the country during the June–July examination schedule.
Following complaints regarding several errors in the question papers, the NTA announced a re-examination for three subjects—English, Commerce and Sociology.
The re-examination for these papers will be held on September 9 and 10, 2026. Candidates appearing for the re-test have been advised to check their registered email address and mobile phone for the examination city-intimation slip, application number and password-related communication.
The NTA said candidates must use the updated examination details to download their admit cards from the official UGC-NET website. The agency clarified that the city-intimation slip is not the admit card and that candidates must download and carry the admit card to the examination centre.
