CJP Sets 10-Day Deadline to West Bengal Government Over Demands in Abdul Case

New Delhi : CJP Co-Convener Ashutosh Ranka said the organisation has placed four demands before the West Bengal government following discussions with the family of Abdul.

Ranka said the demands should be addressed within 10 days, failing which CJP would organise a peaceful gherao of the Bankura District Magistrate’s Office in West Bengal.

The four demands are:

1. Registration of an FIR against all unidentified individuals allegedly involved in the incident.
2. A court-monitored and impartial investigation into alleged police complicity and misconduct.
3. Round-the-clock state protection for Abdul’s family.
4. Instead of monetary compensation, the family has sought the establishment of a world-class school named after Abdul’s deceased father, Sheikh Mohammed Mafik.

Ranka said the demands were formulated after detailed discussions with Abdul’s family and urged the state government to take action within the stipulated 10-day period.

He added that if the demands are not met, CJP would proceed with the proposed peaceful protest outside the Bankura DM Office.
