Chennai / New Delhi : Chennai is hosting a series of high-level BRICS meetings on Science, Technology and Innovation as part of India’s BRICS Chairship 2026.
The Meeting of BRICS Senior Officials on Science, Technology and Innovation is being held on August 19-20, followed by the Meeting of BRICS Science, Technology and Innovation Ministers on August 21.
The meetings bring together senior officials and ministers from BRICS countries to exchange perspectives, strengthen scientific and technological cooperation and identify new avenues for collaboration.
The deliberations are expected to focus on leveraging science, technology and innovation as drivers of economic development, while exploring new pathways for technology-led growth and deeper cooperation across the BRICS partnership.
The meetings in Chennai underscore India’s emphasis on innovation, research and technology cooperation as key components of its BRICS Chairship 2026.
