New Delhi (Parliament Monsoon Session 2026): Congress General Secretary (Organisation) and MP K. C. Venugopal said that the party has been demanding a discussion in Parliament on the NEET examination paper leak issue for the past three days, along with seeking the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Raising the issue in Lok sabha , Venugopal said that the Congress has repeatedly moved an adjournment motion seeking a detailed discussion on the matter, but the government has not accepted the demand.
Questioning the government’s approach, he said, “Yesterday, Jitendra Singh said that the government is ready for a discussion, but under which rule? Why is this government insensitive to this issue? What is stopping them from holding a structured debate?”
Venugopal alleged that the government was avoiding a meaningful discussion on the concerns raised by students and opposition parties regarding the NEET examination controversy.
The Congress leader outlined the party’s key demands, including:
- A detailed discussion on the NEET paper leak issue in Parliament
- Resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan
- Withdrawal of FIRs registered against protesting students
- A detailed inquiry into the conduct of police officials during the action against protesters
Venugopal said that the Opposition would continue to raise the concerns of students and demand accountability from the government both inside and outside Parliament.
