New Delhi/Tokyo: Ambassador of India to Japan Nagma Malik attended the general meeting of the Japan-India Friendship Parliamentary League (JIPFL) held in Tokyo, highlighting the important role of parliamentary cooperation in further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, Ambassador Nagma Malik expressed appreciation for the League’s continued efforts and valuable contribution towards deepening the longstanding Japan-India friendship.
The Ambassador briefed members of the parliamentary league on the outcomes of the recently concluded Japan-India Annual Summit held in New Delhi and highlighted the ambitious future vision outlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Takaichi for expanding cooperation across various sectors.
With India and Japan preparing to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, Ambassador Malik emphasised the need to further enhance parliamentary exchanges, dialogue and people-to-people connections.
She reiterated that stronger legislative cooperation would play a crucial role in advancing the Japan-India Special Strategic and Global Partnership and creating new opportunities for collaboration in the years ahead.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both nations to strengthen mutual trust, strategic cooperation and the enduring friendship between India and Japan.
