New Delhi/Hyderabad: India hosted the 12th BRICS Labour and Employment Ministers’ Meeting in Hyderabad, bringing together representatives from BRICS nations to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the areas of labour welfare, employment generation, skill development, and technology-driven workforce transformation.
The high-level meeting was organised under the theme “Building for Sustainability, Innovation, Cooperation and Stability”, highlighting the shared commitment of BRICS countries towards creating resilient, inclusive, and future-ready labour ecosystems.
Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, warmly welcomed the participating representatives and chaired the ministerial meeting.
During the discussions, the participating countries focused on strengthening collaboration in key areas including social security systems, workforce participation, skill enhancement, and the use of digital technologies for workers.
The meeting provided an important platform for BRICS nations to exchange experiences, share best practices, and explore collaborative solutions to address emerging challenges in the global labour market.
India’s hosting of the meeting reflects its continued commitment towards promoting international cooperation on labour and employment issues and advancing sustainable workforce development through innovation, inclusivity, and technology.
