New Delhi : Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah chaired the Land Border Districts’ SPs Conference 2026 in New Delhi, focusing on strengthening security mechanisms and enhancing coordination across India’s border districts.
Addressing the conference, the Home Minister emphasized that the Government of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership has transformed the country’s border security framework from a reactive system into a proactive security architecture.
The new approach integrates the combined capabilities of security forces, civil administration, advanced technology, and active participation of citizens to create a stronger and more comprehensive border management system.
The Modi government has developed a four-pronged security grid extending up to the district level, supported by the concept of a smart border security network. This modern framework aims to ensure that every inch of India’s borders is protected through advanced surveillance, improved coordination, and state-of-the-art security solutions.
The conference brought together Superintendents of Police from land border districts, providing a platform to review challenges, share best practices, and strengthen cooperation among agencies responsible for safeguarding India’s frontiers.
The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to building a technologically advanced, intelligence-driven, and future-ready border security system for the nation.
