New Delhi /Luoyang: Indian Deputy Chief of Mission in China, Ms. Angeline Premalatha, visited the historic White Horse Temple in Luoyang on 8 July, underscoring the deep-rooted cultural and civilizational connections shared between India and China.
During her visit, Ms. Premalatha met Venerable Abbot Miao Tong and representatives of the Luoyang Foreign Affairs Office, and held discussions on the significance of the temple’s historical legacy.
She also visited the Indian Style Temple located within the White Horse Temple complex and paid her respects at the tombs of the revered Indian monks Kasyapa Matanga and Dharmaratna, who played a historic role in bringing Buddhist scriptures from India to China.
The White Horse Temple stands as a powerful symbol of the shared Buddhist heritage and centuries-old civilizational exchanges between India and China, reflecting the historical ties that have connected the two societies for generations.
Continuing her engagements, on 9 July, the Indian Deputy Chief of Mission met Mr. Li Bing, Deputy Director General of the Henan Foreign Affairs Office, in Zhengzhou. The discussions focused on strengthening cultural exchanges, people-to-people connections, and cooperation between India and China.
The visits highlighted India’s continued efforts to promote cultural diplomacy and deepen mutual understanding through the shared heritage and historical links between the two nations.
