New Delhi/Quanzhou, China: India’s cultural and historical ties with China were highlighted during a visit by Indian Ambassador to China V. Doraiswami and Consul General Gince Mattom to the historic Kaiyuan Temple in Quanzhou, Fujian Province.
The Indian diplomats visited the 7th-century Kaiyuan Temple, where they were warmly welcomed by the temple’s Chief Monk, Venerable Shi De Sheng.
The ancient temple stands as a remarkable symbol of centuries-old cultural exchanges between India and China. Its architecture, artworks, and traditions reflect the influence of both local Chinese heritage and ancient Indian cultural traditions.
The visit highlighted the deep historical connections between the two civilisations, which have been shaped over centuries through the exchange of Buddhism, knowledge, art, architecture, and spiritual traditions.
