New Delhi/London : The negotiating team behind the landmark UK-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA) has been recognised for its efforts at the UK–India Awards 2026, organised ahead of the agreement’s scheduled implementation on 15 July 2026.
The award-winning team, including representatives from His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner (HMTC) South Asia, was honoured for its role in successfully concluding negotiations that paved the way for a historic trade partnership between the United Kingdom and India.
The recognition comes just one week before the UK-India FTA officially comes into effect, marking a significant milestone in bilateral economic relations.
The agreement is expected to further strengthen trade and investment ties between the two countries by creating new opportunities for businesses, enhancing market access, and deepening economic cooperation across key sectors.
The honour highlights the dedication, coordination, and diplomatic efforts of both sides’ negotiating teams in delivering a major milestone in the India-UK strategic partnership.
