– DGP Ajay Singhal issues directions after assuming charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Haryana Police Housing Corporation
– Special focus on waterlogging, sewage, drainage, rainwater disposal and electrical safety; all units directed to complete work within 2–3 weeks
Chandigarh : After assuming charge as the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of the Haryana Police Housing Corporation (HPHC), Haryana Director General of Police Shri Ajay Singhal, IPS, has directed the launch of a comprehensive preventive maintenance drive across police lines and police campuses in the state in view of the upcoming monsoon season. He said that timely and effective measures are essential to provide permanent solutions to issues related to waterlogging, sewage, rainwater drainage, buildings and electrical infrastructure during the monsoon.
– DGP directs strengthening of rainwater drainage system before onset of monsoon
During a review meeting held in this regard, DGP and CMD Shri Ajay Singhal instructed officers to undertake a special campaign across all police lines, residential complexes and office premises to ensure that rainwater drainage systems are fully functional so that no inconvenience or damage occurs during the monsoon. He directed that all rainwater harvesting systems, rooftops, roof drains, gutters, down-take pipes, storm water drains and other drainage infrastructure be thoroughly cleaned, inspected and repaired. Any blockage, leakage or damage should be removed immediately on priority to ensure smooth and efficient flow of rainwater.
– Special focus on street lighting, electrical systems and structural safety
The DGP also emphasized that safety in police campuses during the monsoon must remain the highest priority. He directed comprehensive inspection of street lights, electrical lines and all other electrical installations, and instructed that all defective or non-functional equipment be repaired immediately. He further directed officers to take all necessary preventive measures in advance to avoid waterlogging, seepage, damage to buildings and any adverse impact on infrastructure. The quality of every maintenance work must be ensured, and no negligence will be tolerated. Shri Ajay Singhal instructed that this special maintenance drive be completed on priority within the next two to three weeks. All concerned officers have been directed to personally monitor the works, regularly review progress and ensure that all police lines and police campuses across the state are fully prepared, safe and clean before the monsoon.
– DGP Ajay Singhal: Better working and residential environment is our priority
DGP and CMD, Haryana Police Housing Corporation, Shri Ajay Singhal said that providing police personnel with a safe, clean and better working as well as residential environment is among the department’s highest priorities. He stated that timely completion of the necessary maintenance works before the monsoon will not only ensure the safety of police establishments but will also help protect valuable government assets. He directed officers to execute the campaign with quality, timeliness and accountability so that all police units across the state continue to function smoothly throughout the monsoon season.
In addition, the CMD, Haryana Police Housing Corporation, informed that under the “Green Haryana Police Housing Corporation Campaign-2026,” a special plantation drive titled “My Plant, My Responsibility – Green Campus, Our Collective Participation” will also be conducted during the monsoon season. Under this initiative, officers and employees of the Haryana Police Housing Corporation will undertake plantation on vacant land or other suitable locations available within HPHC premises. The objective is to ensure that the initiative goes beyond a routine plantation programme and reflects the Corporation’s collective commitment towards environmental conservation.
