-India, Japan Reaffirm Industry-Led Growth at Joint Economic Forum
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi jointly addressed the India-Japan Joint Economic Forum on Thursday, reaffirming the central role of industry and business in driving the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership. At the India-Japan Joint Economic Forum, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi inaugurate Maruti Suzuki’s 4th Vehicle Manufacturing Facility at Kharkhoda in Haryana.
The forum brought together leading business leaders, investors and industry representatives from both countries to explore new opportunities for expanding economic cooperation and strengthening long-term commercial ties.
During the event, the two Prime Ministers emphasized the need to increase bilateral investment, build resilient and diversified supply chains, and promote deeper collaboration in manufacturing under the vision of ‘Make in India for the World.’ They underscored the importance of creating stronger industrial partnerships that can support sustainable economic growth and enhance global competitiveness.
Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Takaichi also highlighted the growing scope for cooperation in clean energy, green growth, and critical and emerging technologies, identifying these sectors as key drivers of the next phase of India-Japan economic engagement.
The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to fostering innovation, encouraging greater private-sector participation, and creating an enabling environment for businesses from both countries. They expressed confidence that closer collaboration between industry and governments would further strengthen the economic pillar of the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership and contribute to shared growth and prosperity.
