Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Begins Four-Day Official Visit to France

New Delhi / Paris : Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman arrived in Paris on Thursday on a four-day official visit to France, aimed at further strengthening the strategic and economic partnership between India and France.

Upon her arrival at Charles de Gaulle (CDG) International Airport, the Finance Minister was received by India’s Ambassador to France, Sanjeev Singla.

During the visit, Sitharaman is scheduled to co-chair the India–France Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) with Roland Lescure, France’s Minister of Economy, Finance, Industrial and Energy Sovereignty, in Aix-en-Provence. The dialogue will focus on expanding bilateral cooperation across key areas of economic and financial engagement.

As part of her engagements, the Finance Minister will also hold one-on-one meetings with leading global Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) to highlight India’s strong macroeconomic fundamentals, policy reforms and investment opportunities, while encouraging greater foreign investment and business collaboration.

In addition, Sitharaman will address a European economic forum, where she will speak on the theme of “Fostering and Developing the New Middle Class.” The address is expected to showcase India’s inclusive growth model and its expanding role in the global economy.

The visit underscores the growing momentum in India-France economic relations, with both countries seeking to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, finance and strategic sectors under their long-standing partnership.
