PM Modi Launches ₹9,400 Crore Development Projects in Telangana, Calls Hyderabad a Future Manufacturing Hub

New Delhi /Hyderabad : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the foundation stone, inaugurated, and dedicated multiple development projects worth nearly ₹9,400 crore in Hyderabad, Telangana, aimed at boosting industrial growth, connectivity, infrastructure, and energy security in the state.

Addressing a large gathering, the Prime Minister described Hyderabad as a city of growing national and global importance and said the newly launched projects would accelerate Telangana’s transformation into a major manufacturing and industrial hub. He noted that the initiatives would generate thousands of employment opportunities while enhancing regional connectivity and economic development.

Highlighting the significance of the Zaheerabad Industrial Area, Shri Modi said the project forms a key part of the Government of India’s mission to develop world-class industrial corridors. He stated that the proposed Industrial Smart City will feature modern infrastructure, uninterrupted power supply, and advanced ICT networks to attract global investors. He added that the Union Government is investing thousands of crores in the project, which is expected to benefit workers, industries, and farmers alike through growth in manufacturing, machinery, and food processing sectors.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the government’s focus on reviving India’s textile sector through modern initiatives. Referring to the PM MITRA Park in Warangal, he said the mega textile park would play a crucial role in driving a new textile revolution in the country. He noted that industries operating within the park would benefit from various central schemes, including the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, and added that the project would create large-scale employment opportunities, especially for women.

Underscoring the Centre’s investment in connectivity infrastructure over the past 12 years, Shri Modi said nearly ₹1.75 lakh crore has been allocated for National Highway development across the country. He observed that Telangana’s highway network has doubled during this period. Referring to the Telangana-Karnataka National Highway widening project, he said the initiative would significantly reduce travel time and transportation costs.

On railway infrastructure, the Prime Minister said Telangana’s annual railway allocation has increased sharply compared to the pre-2014 period. He informed that railway projects worth nearly ₹50,000 crore are currently under implementation in the state. Shri Modi also highlighted the introduction of five Vande Bharat trains and six Amrit Bharat trains connecting Telangana, along with the inauguration of sections of the Kazipet-Vijayawada Multi-Tracking Project and the Kazipet Rail Under Bypass Line to improve rail connectivity and freight movement.

Focusing on energy security, the Prime Minister said the Government of India is making major investments to strengthen the country’s energy infrastructure. He inaugurated Indian Oil’s new terminal at Malkapur and stated that the facility would help meet Telangana’s growing energy demand while strengthening the supply chain network in the region.

Shri Modi also highlighted India’s rapid progress in solar energy production and ethanol blending, while reiterating the government’s efforts to expand LPG coverage, piped natural gas, and CNG infrastructure nationwide. Stressing the importance of energy conservation amid global uncertainties, he urged citizens to use energy responsibly to reduce foreign exchange expenditure and limit the impact of international crises.

Concluding his address, the Prime Minister said Telangana’s progress is essential for India’s development. He praised the aspirations of the state’s youth, farmers, industries, MSMEs, and startups, and assured continued support from the Union Government for Telangana’s growth journey.

“If Telangana develops, then India will develop,” Shri Modi said.
