Chandigarh : The Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee has suspended five of its MLAs from the party’s primary membership with immediate effect over charges of indiscipline and anti-party activities.

State Congress President Rao Narender Singh announced that the suspended legislators include Shaili Chaudhary (Naraingarh), Renu Bala (Sadhaura), Aditya Surjewala (Pehowa), Mohammad Ilyas (Ferozepur Jhirka), and Mohammad Israil (Hathin). He has released a press statement describing all aspects of the party decision.

According to the party, the action was taken following recommendations from the State Disciplinary Committee and approval by All India Congress Committee President Mallikarjun Kharge.

The party stated that these MLAs had recently violated party discipline during the Rajya Sabha elections by voting against the officially authorized candidate, which is considered a serious breach of organizational norms.

Rao Narender Singh emphasized that discipline is of utmost importance in the party and that indiscipline at any level will not be tolerated. He added that this decision sends a clear message to all leaders and workers that strict action will be taken against anyone acting against party directives.
