New Delhi : In a significant move to expand employment opportunities and enhance digital job matching, the Ministry of Labour and Employment has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Porter and Gigin Technologies. The agreements were formalised in the presence of Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Vandana Gurnani, with the aim of strengthening the National Career Service portal.
Addressing the event, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted the growing impact of the NCS portal as a comprehensive, one-stop platform connecting jobseekers with employment opportunities suited to their skills. He noted that over 7 lakh vacancies are currently active on the portal, while nearly 59 lakh establishments have registered, creating a vast ecosystem for employment generation. He expressed confidence that partnerships with Porter and Gigin would further strengthen the platform and benefit all stakeholders.
The Union Minister also emphasized the portal’s integration with key government platforms such as e-Migrate, SIDH portal, and My Bharat portal, along with various state portals, making it more expansive and accessible. Stressing the importance of addressing the skill gap, he urged the partner platforms to collaborate on providing short-term, industry-aligned training programs, particularly in soft skills, to improve employability among youth.
Secretary Vandana Gurnani underscored the scale and success of the NCS portal, stating that it has registered over 6 crore jobseekers and mobilised more than 9 crore vacancies since its inception. She expressed optimism that the collaboration with Porter and Gigin would enhance participation and strengthen the employment ecosystem. She added that the initiative is expected to generate sustained and dignified livelihood opportunities, contributing to a more inclusive and future-ready labour market.
A representative from Porter described the company as a technology-driven logistics platform providing efficient urban transport solutions. Through its partnership with NCS, Porter aims to scale up job opportunities in the logistics and driving sectors by leveraging the portal’s extensive reach. The company plans to create around 6 lakh employment opportunities annually through NCS and target nearly 30 lakh opportunities by 2030, thereby building a structured pathway for workforce engagement in logistics.
Meanwhile, Gigin Technologies highlighted its AI-powered ecosystem designed to deliver verified and dignified employment opportunities through advanced digital recruitment solutions. Under the MoU, Gigin will facilitate the creation of 2–3 lakh verified job opportunities annually and engage with over 1.5 lakh employers. The collaboration will enable seamless integration of verified job listings and employer connections into the NCS portal, improving transparency and trust in the recruitment process.
These strategic partnerships are expected to significantly enhance outreach, improve visibility of job opportunities, and promote inclusive participation in the labour market. By leveraging digital innovation and collaborating with emerging Indian companies, the government aims to create a robust, transparent, and technology-driven employment ecosystem that supports sustainable and future-ready livelihoods across the country.
