New Delhi : The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has issued a consultation paper on the “Draft Telecom Commercial Communication Preference (Third Amendment) Regulations, 2026,” inviting feedback from stakeholders on the proposed changes.

Initially, the deadline for submission of comments was set for April 12, 2026, with counter-comments due by April 27, 2026. However, following multiple requests from stakeholders seeking additional time—citing the significant business, commercial, regulatory, technical, and financial implications of the proposed amendments—the regulator has decided to extend the timelines.

Stakeholders can now submit their comments until April 19, 2026, while the deadline for counter-comments has been extended to May 4, 2026. The extension is intended to allow stakeholders adequate time for detailed analysis and internal consultations before submitting their responses.

TRAI has advised that comments and counter-comments be submitted preferably via email at advqos@trai.gov.in. For any clarification or further information, stakeholders may contact Deepak Sharma, Advisor (QoS-2), through the same email or via telephone.

The authority has also clarified that no further extension of deadlines will be granted in this matter.
