New Delhi : Mukesh Mangal, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, stated that the Ministry has been regularly engaging with stakeholders to address their concerns and improve operational efficiency.

He informed that a joint meeting was held recently in coordination with the Department of Commerce, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, and Directorate General of Foreign Trade to review the current challenges being faced by exporters and other stakeholders.

During the meeting, exporters and their associations were requested to present their concerns in detail, including specifying the ports where such issues are being encountered. The aim is to ensure targeted and effective resolution of bottlenecks affecting trade operations.

Officials also informed participants that directions have already been issued to shipping lines to pass on the benefits and relief measures provided by ports directly to exporters upfront, rather than routing them through a reimbursement process. This move is expected to ease financial burdens and enhance the ease of doing business for exporters.
