Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to Inaugurate First CPA Zone VII Conference in Goa on April 9

New Delhi : Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, will inaugurate the first conference of Zone VII of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region in Panaji on April 9.

Several senior leaders, including Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh, will also attend and address the conference. Leaders from Maharashtra and Gujarat legislatures will be present as well.

The two-day conference will bring together speakers and legislators from different states to discuss important topics. These include the role of young leaders in building a developed India by 2047 and key regional priorities like trade, tourism, urban development, environment, and coastal connectivity.

Zone VII of CPA India Region includes the legislatures of Goa, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. This is the first such conference after the reorganisation of CPA India Region into nine zones in 2024.

The closing session on April 10 will be attended by Goa Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju along with Om Birla.

The conference aims to improve cooperation between legislatures, share best practices, and discuss development issues important for the region.
