Cchandigarh : New Delhi : Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the state’s 59-year development journey stands as evidence of Haryana’s remarkable progress to prosperity and happiness. Today, Haryana is redefining the meaning of prosperity.

The Chief Minister added that the state’s infrastructure has witnessed rapid growth. Under the able leadership of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi, Haryana is moving forward on the path of innovation, infrastructure, and inclusive growth. “Our goal is the balanced development of the state ensuring that whether urban or rural, rich or poor, everyone benefits from progress,” he added .

The Chief Minister was addressing as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the three-day cultural festival and exhibition organised on the occasion of 60th Haryana Day at Yavanika Garden, Sector-5 today.

He said that during this three-day festival, the people witnessed and experienced the cultural, historical, and developmental journey of the state. Haryana’s vibrant traditions were brought to life through captivating folk songs and dances performed by local artists.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the artists who were honored, saying that this three-day celebration was not merely a government event but a festival celebrating the very soul of Haryana. Students also showcased innovation and technology through exhibitions that offered a glimpse into the state’s promising future. These efforts turned the celebration into a true people’s festival, reviving Haryana’s culture and folk heritage on stage and making the event truly memorable.

He said that this November has truly become a month of celebrations. For the past three days, the entire state has been immersed in Haryana Day festivities. Just two days later, on November 5, the birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, will be celebrated. This year, the International Gita Mahotsav will also commence on November 15 and continue until December 5. The 21-day festival will present a unique confluence of culture, knowledge, and spirituality. The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to everyone in advance for these upcoming festivals.

The Chief Minister further said that this month, numerous programs are being organized across the state to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the Ninth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. A state-level event will be held in Kurukshetra on November 25 to commemorate his supreme sacrifice. He added that November is a month for the people of Haryana to immerse themselves in the spirit of devotion and spirituality.

Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that Haryana accounts for only 1.34 percent of the country’s area and 2.09 percent of its population, yet the state contributes 3.6 percent to India’s GDP. Haryana’s per capita income is the highest among large states, standing at approximately Rs 3.53 lakh, compared to just Rs 343 in 1966. At that time, the state’s exports were only Rs 4.5 crore, which have now risen to over Rs 2.75 lakh crore. He added that Haryana also leads among large states in per capita GST collection, and the offices of 250 Fortune 500 companies are located in the state.
The Chief Minister further stated that Haryana is the first state in the country where 24 crops are procured at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The state also offers the highest sugarcane price in the country at Rs 415 per quintal, and provides the highest social security pension of Rs 3,200 per month.

The Chief Minister said that the state is grateful to its agricultural scientists and farmers, whose talent and hard work have made Haryana a leader in food grain production. In 1966, the state produced approximately 26 lakh tons of food grains, which has now risen to 206 lakh tons. Speaking about animal husbandry, he said that Haryana is a state where rivers of milk and yogurt flow from its Murrah buffaloes and Sahiwal cows. In 1966, the state had minimal road, electricity, and water facilities. Today, every village is connected by paved roads, and 86 percent of villages and hamlets get 24×7 electricity. Moreover, tap water is now available in every household, and adequate canals and other irrigation facilities ensure that even low rainfall does not cause drought.

Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that Haryana has emerged as a major hub for the automobile, IT, and other industries. The credit for this achievement goes to the state’s industrialists and workers, while the engineers and planners deserve praise for developing world-class, state-of-the-art infrastructure. Today, the state boasts a network of gleaming, wide highways, expressways, railways, and metro rail, with numerous overbridges and flyovers making life easier for the people.

The Chief Minister added that several world-class educational institutions have been established in Haryana, offering education in every faculty and discipline, attracting students from across the country. He highlighted that Haryana’s youth have brought glory to the state and the nation by winning medals in international sports competitions. He also said that the state’s policy of providing government jobs to youth purely on merit basis has gained nationwide recognition. Haryana is proud to be the first state in the country to implement the new National Education Policy.

He said that women have played an equal and vital role in Haryana’s all-round development. Traditionally, they have contributed significantly to the state’s economy through agriculture, animal husbandry, and cottage industries. Today, Haryana’s daughters are achieving remarkable success in sports, space exploration, and aviation. In modern times, women are efficiently engaged in production, manufacturing, and marketing of various products, with their talent being recognized both nationally and internationally.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister honoured the winning artists of various competitions. Shukanwati from Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, Dudhaula (Palwal), who secured the first position; Archana from Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind, who secured the second position; and Sahil from Sanatan Dharma College, Ambala Cantt, who secured the third position, were awarded cash prizes of Rs 1,00,000, Rs 75,000, and Rs 50,000 respectively.

During the event, Sh K. M. Pandurang, Director General of the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, and the Art and Cultural Affairs Department, honoured the Chief Minister by presenting him with a shawl and a mement
