Sukhwinder, a Notorious Criminal Wanted in 16 Criminal Cases, Injured in a Police Encounter and Arrested

Chandigarh/Kurukshetra : In an encounter with Kurukshetra police, notorious criminal Sukhwinder alias Sukhi, wanted in 16 criminal cases, was arrested.

According to police, Sukhwinder alias Sukhi, son of Roshan Lal, a resident of Khedi Markanda, had demanded ransom from Angrez Singh, the former Sarpanch of Khedi Markanda, a few days ago. Case number 582 was registered in this regard at Thanesar Police Station. He already has 15 criminal cases registered against him.

Based on a tip-off, Kurukshetra police learned of his whereabouts and a police team surrounded him. To avoid arrest, Sukhwinder fired two rounds at the police team. In retaliation, the police fired three rounds, hitting Sukhwinder in the left leg. He was arrested and taken to LNJP, Kurukshetra. Police recovered a 12-bore country-made pistol, five empty shells, and three live rounds from the scene.
