General meeting of the House held under the chairmanship of Mayor Rajrani Malhotra
- In the meeting, three new nominated members were sworn in, including two members of the Finance and Contract Committee

Gurugram : The general meeting of the House of Municipal Corporation Gurugram was held on Monday at Haryana Institute of Public Administration, Sector-18 under the chairmanship of Mayor Rajrani Malhotra. Various issues related to the development of the city were discussed in detail in the meeting and many resolutions were passed unanimously.
At the beginning of the meeting, the oath of duty was administered to three new corporation members nominated by the government, namely Sachin Devatwal, Vikrant Yadav and Krishna Swami. Also, Corporation member Avneesh Raghav from Ward-21 was congratulated by cutting a cake on his birthday.

Two new members in the Finance and Contract Committee
In the meeting, two members of the Finance and Contract Committee of Municipal Corporation Gurugram were selected. These include Sundar Singh from Ward-1 and Anoop Singh from Ward-25. The chairperson of this committee is Mayor Rajrani Malhotra herself.
Audit Report and Development Proposal

The audit report for the financial year 2023-24 was placed before the House, on which during the discussion, the expansion of rain water harvesting system was recommended. Issues like installation of signage boards with the names of the House members, approval of street light rate contract, transfer of land to the Health Department for Urban PHC and reduction in development fee were discussed. Apart from this, guidelines were given to the concerned officials by setting up camps for drinking water connection meters, setting up one CBG plant in each of the four zones and other developmental aspects.
Mayor Rajrani Malhotra said that the Municipal Corporation is continuously working for the overall development of Gurugram city and is implementing schemes giving priority to the needs of the citizens. He said that concrete steps are being taken by the corporation in areas like rain water harvesting, sewerage management, drinking water supply and environmental protection. The Mayor appealed to the House members to promote public participation in their respective wards, so that everyone’s active role can be ensured in the creation of a clean, safe and modern Gurugram. He also said that the benefits of the corporation’s schemes will be maximum only when the common citizens actively participate in these initiatives.
Corporation Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said that Municipal Corporation Gurugram is constantly striving to strengthen the infrastructure of the city and improve civic amenities. He informed that 40 areas have been identified by the Sewerage Monitoring Cell, where permanent solution to sewerage problems will be done in a phased manner by April 2026. The Municipal Commissioner said that special attention is being paid to transparency and quality in the developmental and corrective works being carried out by the corporation. Along with this, modern technology and monitoring systems are being used to ensure quick resolution of citizens’ complaints. Expressing gratitude to the House members, he said that with their cooperation the pace of development of the city will be even faster.
