Bengaluru : Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi while addressing a public meeting held in Bengaluru, Karnataka today said that Election Commission asks me for an affidavit. It says that I have to take an oath. I have taken an oath on the Constitution in Parliament. He stressed that today when the people of the country are asking questions about our data, the Election Commission has shut down the website. He said that Election Commission should give us the data, we will prove that there has been vote theft in the election.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that Election Commission knows that if the public starts asking questions to them, their entire structure will collapse. Narendra Modi has become the Prime Minister by stealing votes. He said that when we did not get help from the Election Commission, we started the investigation ourselves. For this, we chose Mahadevapura assembly constituency of Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha seat. He said that whatever we found in the investigation, I put it in front of everyone in the press conference and proved that BJP and Election Commission together have stolen votes.
In his address, he reiterated what he had said in his press conference a day earlier and said that there are 6.5 lakh votes in Mahadevapura assembly constituency and out of that 1,00,250 votes have been stolen. Meaning- BJP has stolen 1 out of every 6 votes. He stressed that if the Election Commission gives us electronic data- we will prove with confidence that Narendra Modi has become the Prime Minister by stealing votes.
He said that the polls in Karnataka showed that we are getting 15-16 seats. According to our polling, we were ahead in 16 seats. But we won only 9- after which we started asking questions whether we really lost these seats? He accused the Election Commission of non-cooperation by saying that “We asked for help from the Election Commission. We asked for voter list and CCTV footage from them, but they did not help us. Then the law of giving the video itself changed.”
He said that a question arose before us in the last election. First the Lok Sabha election was held, then the Maharashtra assembly election was held. Our alliance won the Lok Sabha elections with a huge number of seats, but four months later BJP won the assembly elections. According to him, this was a very shocking thing. When we inquired, we came to know that one crore new voters had cast their votes in the assembly elections. He claimed that wherever these new voters came, BJP won. There was no reduction in our votes, but the votes of the new voters went to BJP’s account. That very day we understood that there is something fishy.
He has demanded the electronic voter list of the entire country from the Election Commission and also demanded to provide the videography records related to the elections. He said that if we get this, we will prove that seats have been stolen in the entire country.
This rally was also addressed by many big leaders including Congress Party National President Mallikarjun Kharge, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister Shivkumar.
