Lok Sabha Question Hour Adjourned , Speaker Om Birla Warned Opposition MPs for Their Misconduct in House

New Delhi : The monsoon session of Parliament entered its third day today but due to the uproar and sloganeering of the opposition, the Question Hour had to be postponed today as well. The opposition MPs reached the Well of the House and kept raising slogans and the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla were seen trying to run the House. The Speaker repeatedly tried to convince the opposition leaders but the opposition MPs remained adamant on discussing the matter of Operation Sindoor and revision of voter lists in Bihar. Today only two questions related to the Railway Ministry could be asked. Due to the uproar of the opposition, the Lok Sabha Speaker postponed the Question Hour till 12:00 pm.

The tension between the opposition and the ruling party continued in the Lok Sabha today as well. The opposition kept creating a ruckus over their demands. The Lok Sabha Speaker and Om Birla announced the start of the Question Hour and asked Janata Dal United MP Lovely Anand to ask questions. MP Lovely Anand, who was elected to the Parliament from Bihar, asked questions related to the Railway Ministry. She raised the question of construction of Sitamarhi -Shivhar rail section.

Amidst sloganeering by opposition MPs, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Narendra Modi government has increased the railway budget for Bihar by 9 times in the last few years and allocated Rs 10,000 crore. Describing Bihar as an important state, the Union Railway Minister claimed that dozens of railway projects pending in the state for many years were completed during the Narendra Modi government. He said that every effort was made to fulfill the old aspirations of the people of the state.

He said that only NDA did justice to the people of Bihar. The Railway Minister said that tender has been issued for building a bridge on Sitamarhi Bagmati river. For this, Rs 262 crore was approved in terms of land. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in his reply that 98 railway stations are being redeveloped in Bihar while 8 Amrit Bharat trains have been started. MP Lovely Anand had asked a question on the Shivhar Sitamarhi rail section project, so the Railway Minister clarified that Rs 567 crore has been sanctioned for it and its work will be done at a fast pace.

Janata Dal United MP Girdhari Yadav from Banka parliamentary constituency from Bihar also asked a question related to the Railway Ministry. He said that no new train has been run from Bihar in the last few years. Is the Railway Ministry considering running new trains to connect Bihar with other parts of the country? The Union Railway Minister, in his reply, said that trains have been run from Patna to Delhi , Darbhanga to Delhi , Patna to Bengaluru, while many Amrit Bharat trains have been run. He also informed about starting Vande Bharat from Bihar. He said that many new trains have been run from the state.

During the question hour, the opposition MPs continued to create a ruckus. They were seen raising slogans in the Well of the House. The opposition MPs had powers in their hands, to which the Lok Sabha Speaker and Birla strongly objected. He repeatedly appealed to the opposition MPs to understand and follow the parliamentary decorum.

He said that the MPs are honourable and they should raise the voice of the people in the Parliament while behaving in a dignified manner. The challenges of the country should be discussed. He said in a harsh tone that the conduct of the opposition MPs in the Parliament is like that of the streets. Addressing the big leaders of all the opposition parties, he said that they should try to regulate their MPs. He said that the government is ready to discuss any topic but the opposition will have to give notice as per the rules.

The opposition MPs ignored the words of the Lok Sabha Speaker and continued sloganeering. Finally, the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla adjourned the proceedings of the Parliament till 12:00 noon.
