Gurugram : Haryana Environment Minister Rao Narbir Singh has called for active participation from all the RWAs of the district as well as social, religious, educational and other institutions of the surrounding districts in the Matri Van Abhiyan to be organized in the district on July 27 under the Aravali Green Wall Project. He said that on this special occasion, Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav and Union Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal will participate in the program as chief guests.
Environment Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that this campaign will be conducted under the Aravali Green Wall Project, in which a three-layer green forest area will be developed.
This campaign is inspired by the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative started by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. In this series, about 20,000 plants will be planted on 27th July from Shiv Nadar School to Ghata Chowk, which will develop this area as “Matri Van”. Rao said that Gurugram is a rapidly growing modern city on the world map, in which we have to pay special attention to green development along with various development projects. He said that there is clear evidence that if we allow nature to develop patiently in its own way, then mankind will definitely get positive benefits from it. He said that the Aravalli mountain range not only gives breath to the surrounding area including the national capital Delhi, but also prevents the desert from growing. In such a situation, we all should contribute in the collective effort for the conservation of Aravalli.
Matri Van Abhiyan will play a major role in increasing groundwater level, greenery will get a boost
Environment Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that we are fortunate that the world’s oldest mountain range Aravali is spread on the land of Gurugram. Our civilization, culture and progress all depend on the environment. He said that trees always remain important in human life from birth to death. In such a situation, on important occasions of life, we must plant trees and later take care of them. Trees and plants play an important role in water conservation. Water cannot be saved without trees and plants. In the present time, due to increasing urbanization, water conservation has become necessary. Everyone has to come forward in this direction. Only by doing this can the water crisis be resolved. He appealed to the general public to plant trees and preserve them wherever possible.
