Bihar Cabinet Approves Proposal of 35 Percent Reservation for Women Candidates of the State

-Nitish Kumar Govt Decides to Constitute Bihar Youth Commission

Patna : Bihar Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, held on Tuesday, approved 43 proposals including the formation of Youth Commission . In this meeting a proposal of 35 percent horizontal reservation for women candidates is also approved . The natives of the state in direct appointments to all government services, all levels of cadres and all types of posts in the state of Bihar will be eleigible for this reservation.

Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat Dr. S. Siddharth gave detailed information to the media persons after the cabinet meeting. He said that in this meeting a total of 43 proposals including the formation of Youth Commission were approved. He said that a big decision was taken in this meeting for women . Now only women of Bihar will get 35 percent reservation in government jobs. A proposal to give 35 percent horizontal reservation to the women candidates who are natives of the state in direct appointments to all government services, all levels of cadres and all types of posts in the state was also approved.

Bihar cabinet also approved diesel subsidy scheme . Rs 100 crore has been approved for this. Farmers will get a subsidy of Rs 2250 per acre for three irrigations. A farmer will get diesel subsidy for a maximum of eight acres.

He said that With the objective of providing maximum employment opportunities to the youth of Bihar, training them and empowering them, the state government has decided to form the Bihar Youth Commission and today the cabinet approved the formation of the Bihar Youth Commission. This commission will play an important role in advising the government on all matters related to improving and uplifting the status of youth in the society. This commission will also coordinate with government departments to ensure better education and employment to the youth.

The Bihar Youth Commission will have one chairman, two vice-chairmen and seven members, whose maximum age limit will be 45 years. This commission will monitor that the local youth of the state get priority in private sector employment within the state, as well as the interests of the youth studying and working outside the state are also protected. Preparing programs for the prevention of alcohol and other drugs promoting social evils and sending recommendations to the government in such cases will also be its important task. The objective of this visionary initiative of the state government is that through this commission, the youth become self-reliant, skilled and employment-oriented so that their future is secure.

He said that a decision was also taken in the meeting regarding the Divyangjans. Under the Chief Minister Divyangjan Empowerment Scheme, male Divyang candidates of backward class, economically weaker section and general category will be given incentives of Rs 50 thousand and Rs one lakh respectively for the preparation of main examination and interview on passing the preliminary examination of BPSC and UPSC. For this, the proposal to start Divyangjan Civil Service Incentive Scheme has also been approved. ‎

‎In the meeting, approval was given for the implementation of Millets Program to promote Millets crop in Kharif season under Nutri Cereals (Millets) Scheme under Food and Nutrition Security under the Fourth Agriculture Road Map in the financial year 2025-26 and approval was given for withdrawal and expenditure of total Rs 46 crore 75 lakh.
