Gurugram : The young sailors of Haryana have once again raised the pride of the state by waving the flag of their talent at the national level. The players of Vikas and Sports Promotion Service Committee, Sohna performed brilliantly in the recently concluded YAI Youth and Junior Multiclass Championship 2025 in Mysore.
It is noteworthy that this competition was organized by Royal Mysore Sailing Club from 20 to 25 June 2025. Participating on behalf of Haryana in the competition, Ayu Kumar performed excellently among 13 participants in the Green Fleet category and won the silver medal. Ayu Kumar achieved this success with his strategic understanding and disciplined performance in the boys category.
In the same competition, Sakshi Chaunkar also performed brilliantly in the girls category and proved that the daughters of Haryana are also not behind anyone in the field of sports.
Suhim Sheikh of Yacht Club of Hyderabad Foundation has made a special contribution behind this success. For the last one year, he has provided his boats, training ground and other necessary facilities to the Haryana team in Hyderabad free of cost. His expertise, guidance and dedication towards the players played an important role in taking the team to this position.
Team coach Lokesh Yadav provided regular training, mental strength and technical guidance to the players. He said, I feel proud of the achievements of Aayu Kumar and Sakshi. Their hard work, discipline and determination to win has made this success possible. This is just the beginning of Haryana’s yachting journey.
Haryana Yachting Association congratulated the players, coach and supporting organizations and called it a matter of pride for the state and expressed hope that in future the sailors of Haryana will also bring laurels to the country at the international level.
