Gurugram : Municipal Corporation Gurugram today organized property tax data correction camps in various wards of the city. These camps were held in Ward No. 21 RD City, Ward No. 2 Councilor Office and Ward No. 4 Councilor Office Palam Vihar.
According to Municipal Corporation officials, 135 citizens participated in these camps. Taxpayers not only came to pay their property tax, but 54 people also filed applications for amendment in property details. Apart from this, 10 citizens completed the process of self-certification. Tax amount of ₹ 1,12,000 was also collected in the camps.
According to Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, property tax camps organized by Municipal Corporation Gurugram encourage citizen participation and transparency. Citizens are feeling relieved by getting services like data correction, self-certification and tax payment at one place.
Applications for data correction by citizens show that many people are now becoming aware of correcting their records. Also, the number of self-certifications is gradually increasing. Property tax is not only the main source of income of the Municipal Corporation, but through this, citizens also fulfill their responsibilities.
