Manesar/Gurugram : To Arrest Alarming Road Deaths on Indian Roads, during The Road Safety Week 2020, as announced by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, a Nationwide Citizen’s Campaign being organised by NGO Drive Smart Drive Safe had it’s campaign proceeding with mass pledge of Code of Conduct at Manesar on 13th January at Tau Devi Lal Park , IMT Manesar. More than 2000 people joined and observed a minute of silence in the memory of Road Victims.
All participated in short walkathon and made Safety Human Chain. .NGO, Drive Smart Drive Safe along with SIAM & many other like minded organisations has launched the campaign titled #IndiaAgainstRoadCrash #IARC2020 during the 31st National Road safety week.
Volunteers from International centre for automotive Technology ( ICAT) and All India Transporters Welfare Association( AITWA )were present at Tau Devi Lal Park and committed themselves to be a road safety warrior Mr Mahendra Arya , National President ATWA mentioned that ATWA members are fully committed to road safety..
Representatives from various corporates including Hella, Subros, Beumer Group, Sansera, Huber Suhner, MSIL, Sandhar Amkin, Bosch, Dhoot Transmission, IMT Industrial Association, Senior Flexonics, Lumax and Anand Group were present in huge numbers to take the safety pledge at Tau Devi Lal Park. The officials from Haryana State Industrial and infrastructure development corporation (HSIIDC) also attended the event. The event received tremendous support from Mansear Police.
Vinnie Mehta , Director General ACMA also addressed the gathering and called upon people to pass on the message of road safety in their family , friends and neighbourhood . He said we should not stop till we make our roads safer for everyone.
The President of IMT Industrial association Pawan Yadav was part of the dignitaries of the event. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Yadav mentioned that first time ever such massive campaign has been done in Manesar on Road Safety. He thanked the organisers for organising the same. He urged people to follow the code of conduct while travelling on the road.
The MLA from Pataudi Satya Prakash Jaravata too joined the campaign. Speaking at the event, Mr Jaravata asked people to be part of IARC 2020 and raise awareness around road safety. He further added that each of us can make a difference & together we can bring the change. Ibha Lal Vice President and corp Head – HR at Lumax Industries said that safety should be in our DNA and safety should always be demonstrated first . She also urged people to ask questions if safety is not taken care off as getting injured is one of the most painful situation to be inTeam from Huber Suhner beautifully conveyed the message of Road safety by performing Nukkad Natak and road safety anthem was also played during the event.
One-minute silence was observed in remembrance of those who have lost their lives in road crashes.The objective of the campaign is to start a sustainable chain of Nationwide activities, which will not only make people aware & transform their behaviour on roads but it will also lead to formation of Road Safety Clubs among Corporates, Institutions & organizations at various locations and make Indian roads safer for everyone.
