Gurugram : Gurugram police arrested one accused in the case of cheating the company’s accountant by claiming to be the owner of the company through WhatsApp message The accused is account holder/account provider . Police team recovered one mobile phone and one thousand rupees from the possession of the accused . Till date 11 accused have been arrested in the case .
Deatil of Crime :
-On 27.05.2025, an accountant/employee of a company informed the police team of Police Station Cyber Crime South, Gurugram through a written complaint that on 19.05.2025, someone sent WhatsApp messages and introduced himself as the owner of the company (in which he works), so as per his instructions, he transferred money from the company’s account to various bank accounts from 19.05.2025 to 27.05.2025. An unknown person took him into confidence by introducing himself as the owner of the company and fraudulently transferred money from the company’s bank account to various bank accounts and cheated him. On this complaint, a case was registered under the relevant sections in Police Station Cyber Crime South, Gurugram.
-While taking further action under the leadership of Shri Priyanshu Diwan HPS, Assistant Police Assistant Cyber Crime, Gurugram, the police team of Inspector Naveen Kumar, Manager Police Station Cyber Crime South, Gurugram on 07.06.2025 arrested 01 accused in the above case from Uttar Pradesh as per rules. The accused was identified as Brijesh Kumar resident of village Bhagwantpur, District Kasganj (Uttar Pradesh).
-During police interrogation of the above accused and investigation of the case, it was found that out of the amount defrauded in the above case, Rs 71 lakh 01 thousand 411 was transferred to the bank account of the above accused Brijesh. Accused Brijesh Kumar (account holder) had given his bank account to another partner in exchange for 2% commission/share of the amount to be transferred to the bank account and also took Rs 10 thousand in advance.
-The police team has recovered 01 mobile phone and 01 thousand rupees from the possession of the above accused.
– A total of 11 (5+4+1+1) accused have been arrested by the police team in the above case so far. The accused will be presented before the honorable court for further action. The investigation of the case is ongoing.
