All Private schools in Haryana will Demand a Review of School Saftey Policy of the Govt

GURUGRAM: All Private schools in Haryana will protest against the so called biased security policy of the state government by shutting down their more than 800 schools in the state including Gurugram district on 30 th January , Tuesday. The school management, Principals and teachers are in effort to raise their demand of the safety measures for school management members, principals, staff and students. This extra ordinary decision was taken by the association of private schools in the state after the murder of principal of Swami Vivekanand Public School, Yamunanagar. Unfortunately, She was shot dead by a Class XII student on January 20. The association opined that the administration’s safety policy is discriminating as it does not apply on the Government schools.

Among 800 private schools in Haryana, more than 100 are in Gurugram only.  All will remain closed on Tuesday to protest against the harassment by the state administration. It is understood that after the murder of a school children Praduman in Reyan Public School,  Gurugram , the state government directed all district administrations to form a school safty committee and prepare a guide line to investigate the safety measures with in the school premises on a regular basis. It is said that the administration has formed a committee  and on the basis of draw they selected 15 schools in first phase to investigate and take action against the concerned management if any deficiency found. In the mean time the principal of Swami Vivekanand Public School, Yamunanagar, was shot dead by a Class XII student on January 20th . This mishappening shocked and Jerked all private schools to unite and review the situation.  

All members of association of private schools collectively decided to go on strike against this happening and question the administration’s safety policy. They association has questioned safety inspections which are only being conducted in private schools. Private school authorities are of the opinion that in such environment teachers and principals in school campuses are feeling insecured and on other hand  the administration is trying to attack them in the name of students safety, although schools management are already very sensitive about their students security.

800 Private Schools In Haryana to Be Closed Tomorrow 2Colonel Pratap Singh, President of Haryana Progressive School’s Conference (HPSC), Gurugram Chapter, and chairman, Colonel’s Central Academy (CCA school), said that We have unitedly decided that all schools will be closed on Tuesday. He clarified that this decision is to protest against the lack of safety and security of school management members, principals, staff and students too. He said that in such discouraging situation it is very difficult to maintain academic environment in the private schools. Colonel Singh questioned the recent move made by state administration about the safety measures. According to him HPSC is going to make a representation to the DC Gurugram demanding safety measures for school management members, principals, staff and students.

 

800 Private Schools In Haryana to Be Closed Tomorrow 3Speaking on this issue Rajiv Kumar Secretary Haryana Progressive School’s Conference, Gurgaon Chapter said that instead of taking steps to ensure safety of teachers and principals the administartion is trying to harass them. In his opinion it an unwanted intervention in the school management that will create hurdle to run a school smoothly on daily basis. Mr. Kumar said that our attention will be diverted from academic responsibility to another issue. He made stress that the an impractical trend is placed in the society to make slogans against the school management after every happening. This pressure technique is working very wrongfully and administration gets an opportunity to intervene unnecessarily and lodge FIR against the management without any investigation. He made demand that such administrative practice must be stopped and a law of equality with transparent abstract should be followed for all schools either of private and Government too. He claimed that each law is enforced on private institutions only where as state goverment’s schools are much insecured than any private one.

Swati Khandelwal, Principal, M M Public School also confirmed about this protest closing of school. She expressed that this is a matter of concern for all academic institutions. We are going to submit a representation to the Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram.

The information says that all prestigious schools like Blue Bells Model, Shri Ram, Amity, Shiv Nadar, Heritage, CCA, Shalom Hills International, Ridge Valley, Lions Public school,  Bal Bharti Public, MM Public School and other prominent schools in Gurugram will speak in one voice by closing their institutions on 3o th January in the protest against brutal killing of Ritu Chhabra (62), principal of Swami Vivekanand Public School in Yamunanagar.

 

800 Private Schools In Haryana to Be Closed Tomorrow 5On the other hand Yshpal Yadav, President of  Haryana Shikshan Sansthan is having different view on this issue. He clarified that more than 100 schools associated with his association are not going to close their schools but will protest by exhibiting “Black Patti ” . He said that Pre board exams are going on. The Practical exams of 10th and 12 th Board are to be held. Hence by closing the school, children will loose something. We are supporting the issue raised by Haryana Progressive School’s Conference but not by closing the school. Mr yadav reiterated that their associations’ members want to communicate protest message to the society and administration too that one would not destroy our academic fabric.
