Annual function and sports competitions inaugurated at Government Girls College, Sector 14; cleanliness drives under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan inspected across key areas
Gurugraon: Gurugram Mayor Rajrani Malhotra attended the annual function of the Government Girls College in Sector 14 as the chief guest. On the occasion, she inaugurated the sports competitions and witnessed cultural performances presented by the students.
The students showcased their talent and creativity through a range of cultural performances, while their enthusiasm and participation in the sports competitions added to the vibrancy of the event.
Appreciating the students for their talent, energy and confidence, the Mayor extended her best wishes for their performance in the competitions. She said that sports and cultural activities play an important role in the overall development of students, helping them develop qualities such as discipline, leadership, team spirit and self-confidence.
She encouraged the students to actively participate not only in academics but also in sports, cultural activities and other creative fields, and wished them success in their future endeavours.
Mayor Inspects Cleanliness Drive Under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan
Alongside the college programme, Mayor Rajrani Malhotra also inspected the cleanliness drives being carried out by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) in various areas under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
She visited Khandsa Road, Basai Road, Arjun Nagar, Ram Nagar and Madan Puri Road to take stock of the ongoing sanitation work. During the inspection, she reviewed cleanliness arrangements in the respective areas, including the condition of roadsides and public places, as well as the progress of the ongoing cleaning operations.
The Mayor directed the concerned officials and sanitation workers to maintain the pace of cleaning operations and continue the campaign on a sustained basis.
She said that regular cleaning, timely lifting of waste and maintaining cleanliness in public spaces are essential for ensuring an effective sanitation system across the city. She also called for strengthening cleanliness arrangements at the local level and appealed to citizens to keep their surroundings clean and dispose of waste only at designated places.
Citizen Participation Essential for Cleanliness
Mayor Rajrani Malhotra said that maintaining a clean, beautiful and better Gurugram is a collective responsibility. While the Municipal Corporation is undertaking cleanliness drives in different parts of the city to improve sanitation, active participation by citizens can make these efforts more effective.
MCG officials and employees concerned were also present during the inspection and briefed the Mayor about the cleanliness work being carried out in the various areas.
