Congress MP attends Block Congress workers’ conference, alleges poor utilisation of funds meant for city cleanliness
Gurugram: Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda visited Gurugram and participated in the Gurugram Municipal Corporation 2 Block Congress workers’ conference, along with senior party leaders and workers.
During his visit, Hooda raised concerns over the city’s cleanliness situation. He alleged that thousands of crores of rupees had been approved for cleanliness in Gurugram, but the city continued to face sanitation problems. In a political remark, he said the cleanliness budget had been “cleaned out” instead of being reflected in improved cleanliness.
Recent reports have also highlighted continuing sanitation challenges in Gurugram, including garbage accumulation following a prolonged municipal sanitation workers’ strike.
The conference was attended by AICC Haryana in-charge Sanjay Dutt, Haryana Congress president Rao Narender Singh, former MP Raj Babbar, former minister Sukhbir Kataria, urban district president Pankaj Dawar, rural district president Vardhan Yadav, and several other party leaders and workers. The programme was also part of the Haryana Congress’s ongoing block-level organisational meetings.
Hooda extended his best wishes to newly appointed Block Congress President Rajpal Yadav and congratulated Pankaj Dawar for organising the event.
Other leaders and office-bearers present included Pearl Pataudi, Nishit Kataria, Manoj Bagri, Amit Yadav, Dharmendra Makroli, Seema Pahwa, Satpal Daulatabad, Neeraj Yadav, Jaswinder Bisla, Deepak Lamba, Pankaj Bhardwaj, Amit Kochar, Pooja Sharma, Suman Sehrawat, Seema Hooda, Sunita Sehrawat, Mukesh Shyoran, Mukesh Dagar, Mukesh Sharma, Gajendra Choudhary, Satbir Gurjar, Satish Bandhu, Vijay Machhra, Vikas Hooda, Asha Sharma and Ramdhan Vashishth, among others.
The gathering brought together a large number of local Congress leaders and workers and focused on strengthening the party’s organisational presence at the grassroots level.
