New Delhi: US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor said the Quad is moving ahead with a clear and results-oriented agenda following a meeting of senior representatives from the four member countries.
Gor said he joined Australian DFAT Deputy Secretary Elly Lawson, Japan’s Senior Deputy Minister Hiroyuki Namazu, and India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri at the Quad Sherpa meeting to work out an action plan focused on delivering concrete outcomes.
The meeting sought to advance the commitment of US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio towards building a strong and results-oriented Quad, comprising India, the United States, Australia and Japan.
Gor also expressed pride in taking on the role of Quad Sherpa, saying he looks forward to helping translate the leadership’s vision into tangible action and deliverables.
The latest Sherpa-level discussions underline the Quad members’ focus on strengthening coordination and ensuring that the grouping delivers practical outcomes across its areas of cooperation.
