New Delhi/Mumbai : Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, addressed the CareEdge Annual Summit in Mumbai, where he highlighted the transformative role of infrastructure in shaping India’s future growth and development.
Speaking at the summit, Adani welcomed the latest Infrastructure Landscape Report released by CareEdge, describing it as a comprehensive and forward-looking assessment of the rapidly evolving Indian infrastructure sector.
He said the report presents a strong case for developing credit-rating frameworks that can better capture the value created by interconnected infrastructure ecosystems, platforms and the compounding benefits of long-term infrastructure investment.
Adani emphasised that traditional financial assessments often focus primarily on present-day numbers, while large infrastructure projects can generate wider economic benefits over several years by creating new markets, improving connectivity, increasing productivity and attracting further investment.
He highlighted the important role being played by CareEdge, one of India’s leading credit-rating and research institutions, in assessing India’s economic and infrastructure potential beyond immediate financial indicators.
According to Adani, a forward-looking approach to credit assessment can help recognise future possibilities and emerging capabilities, thereby enabling capital to flow towards projects and sectors that can contribute to India’s long-term development.
The discussion assumes significance as India continues to invest heavily in transport, energy, logistics, digital infrastructure, urban development and other critical sectors as part of its broader ambition of becoming a developed economy.
Adani said that stronger infrastructure ecosystems, supported by appropriate financing and credit frameworks, can play a crucial role in building the capabilities required for Viksit Bharat.
In essence, Gautam Adani’s address focused on the need to look beyond today’s financial numbers and recognise the long-term economic value of infrastructure ecosystems, enabling capital to support the capabilities that will drive India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat.
