New Delhi/Kharagpur : Pawan Kumar Chandana, Co-founder and CEO of Skyroot Aerospace, has described his return to his alma mater, IIT Kharagpur, as a deeply emotional and memorable experience.
Sharing his thoughts on social media, Chandana said walking through the campus brought back old memories and gave him an opportunity to reflect on the journey that eventually led to the creation of Skyroot Aerospace. He said his years at IIT Kharagpur helped shape his passion for engineering, while the institute’s entrepreneurial environment encouraged him to transform his ideas into a venture.
The Skyroot Aerospace CEO said he was deeply honoured to receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award from IIT Kharagpur and expressed humility at becoming the institute’s youngest recipient of the honour.
The occasion became even more special, he said, as he shared the stage with the Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), a fellow alumnus of IIT Kharagpur.
Expressing gratitude to his alma mater, Chandana said the institute had played a defining role in his personal and professional journey, adding that returning to the campus where his ambitions first took shape was truly a return to his roots.
